Winter Blues Tree — paper pieced

Combining the last two posts results in this winter blues project. The tree is paper pieced using the $8 pattern published in the previous post. The saw-tooth border likewise is paper pieced, squishing the bases a bit so their points end up at the point of the corner squares and not partly cut off. The quilting stitches that you can see just a little are Welch in inspiration from Jen Jones book on Welch quilts that I received for Christmas. What a great combination of ideas.

See what you come up with when you try the paper pieced tree pattern. Drop me a line or send a photo if you have results you’d like to share.
